If you watched the hit comedy 'Gavin & Stacey' (Series 1 & 2 available on DVD) then you will know that a warm welcome awaits you at all our fayres. If you are organising a wedding in Wales, from Chepstow to Swansea you will find a comprehensive range of carefully selected wedding professionals, who will take the time to discuss your special day with you. As usual, all of our fayres will be unique, you will never see the same mix of exhibitors twice, so come to one or come to them all! At selected fayres there will be a sale rail of wedding dresses which you can try on and purchase on the day, looking good and saving money, how good is that?
The year is 1992. Barcelona is hosting the Olympic Games, the Church of England votes to allow women priests, Andre Agassi wins the Men’s Singles at Wimbledon, and, somewhere in South Wales, Val Slater spotted a gap in the Wedding Market. She filled that gap by organising professional Wedding Fayres, with quality exhibitors, that put the needs of the brides and grooms first.
Fast forward to 2010. 18 years later, over 180 Fayres, the title role in an episode of ‘Gavin & Stacey’, nearly 40,000 Brides and Val Slater Wedding Fayres ‘comes of age’. Planning a wedding is no longer booking the church and choosing a dress. Thanks to legislation permitting the licensing of venues for Civil Ceremonies and the Civil Partnership Act, the Wedding Industry is more complex and diverse than ever before. Throughout our history, Val Slater Wedding Fayres has kept up with varying fashions and demands of the sector, whilst never forgetting those who still want a traditional choice. However, one thing remains constant – our commitment to promoting quality exhibitors who can provide anything you need for a perfect Wedding Day.
Today, we are seeing many of yesterday’s bridesmaids and flower girls visiting the Fayres as Brides-to-be. And we look forward to seeing their bridesmaids as tomorrow’s Brides in the years to come. Times may have changed, but people will always fall in love and get married and Val Slater Wedding Fayres will continue to promote the best selection of exhibitors to help make your wedding dreams come true.
Our fayres are open from 11.30am to 4.00pm and admission is free! One thing is for sure; visiting a Val Slater Wedding Fayre, or Associate event, will be of benefit to you both in organising your celebrations. We hope you have a fabulous Wedding Day, one to remember forever!
Our spring season of fayres is now over - our quality venues and reputable exhibitors are now very busy with weddings, it would be a bit of a worry for us if they still had time for fayres!
